San Diego

I had the chance to fly to San Diego for work last weekend. It was awesome! Burnt my nose pretty bad though. My hotel was right next to Petco field and we watched the Padres play the Giants from the hotel's roof top deck!!
That's me and a doctor from my area. We headed to Coronado island and toured around for an afternoon. THe Hotel Coranado is HUGE and has some rich history. We went through it and sat on the beach for a while. How relaxing! Turns out this is the same vacation that Cari just went on... I didn't put the two together. Silly me!

ANyway- we also had some severe storms when I returned. Evidence of a tornado in a neighboring community. My neighborhood was unscathed. Scary!

Holy Caterpillar Batman!

You Guessed it! I went caterpillar hunting again and turned up this GIANT green monster eating my tomato plants! Crazy! He was so big! Anyway- I actually knew what to look for when I found the poop sitting on the leaves of a plant. If you recall- I had a similar problem with my indoor amaryllis plant last year. The poop is actually called fracas and is great fertilizer. I went out last night to catch this critter with no luck. He is really hard to see! I bet I was looking right at him and missed him. But tonight I happened to find him...you see he is camouflaged to fit right in with the stems/ leaves. He really is HUGE!Now that I know what to look for I will hunt more in daylight. And a final thought....he was really gross to squish!

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere!

THat's right O! I had an opportunity to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert last night! It was awesome! Parrotheads everywhere! I am not a huge concert goer, in fact, my last concert was two years ago. But - I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Even on a work night!

Things are super crazy here. My special man friend is out still. Missing my man :(
I have managed to stay busy with work and assorted events. Settled all my legal issues. Yea! Now I can change my focus to other things.

Tonight I am going to a Tastefully Simple party. Ever hear of such a thing? Tastefully Simple - apparently it is food. I'm just going for entertainment. It is weird living by yourself. I find I don't talk much and then when I get around people I can't shut up. I must just require a certain amount of daily dialogue - go figure!

Update

I have been super busy at work and not in the good way! I had to work both Saturday and Sunday for the second week in a row! So far July has not been my friend!

But I did manage to enjoy my niece's birthday party on Saturday and the airshow on Sunday. Today was average. I am suppose to be working on a presentation but somehow am lacking motivation. My vegetable garden looks great! Lots of tomatoes coming! I planted potatoes too! First zucchini was awesome!! We grilled it in garlic, olive oil, and salt and pepper. Yummy!

My special man friend is out of town now for a month. Hopefully things will ease up at work and I will be able to visit! Speaking of visiting...I haven't been to any friend's house this year! What's up with that! Weird!

Congrats to my brother and sister-in-law on the announcement of the expecting baby!!!
My family keeps growing!

Stand Up and Fight

I heard from the IRS today and they accepted my revised tax submission. I therefore have fought the IRS and won! At least that is the way I am looking at it!
I still have to pay some money but only a couple hunbones and not several thousands. No if everything else can follow suit!

I have had a bad string of patients lately. Weird things too. A bad cellulitis over the 4th that I just got under control - - nearly a week later! And today, possibly a septic joint from an injection. Very rare but also very serious! Not sure what is going on here.... crazy bacteria!

JULY

Not too many exciting things happening here.
I have been really busy at work. Some good some bad.
Taking it all in stride.
Looking forward to this weekend; a birthday party, an airshow, a beer fest.
Flying solo again starting Friday - which is okay since the Mr. is driving me crazy with his concern over the economy and lack thereof for building. Summer usually is super busy -but not this year. Might make for a lean winter.

Jamming!

Aaron and I spent Sunday making jam! It was our inaugural strawberry jam making experience. But now we are totally hooked. We made a ton of jam. I ate some today and it was good good! Maybe a bit too sugary but I will make a correction for next year!
Vegetable garden doing well too! I have several green tomatoes, multiple hot peppers and my zucchini is huge but just flowering.

Work it getting busier too, which is good. But, as always, I had a diabetic who I had to be admitted to the hospital today. Hopefully he will get better quickly and be out before the holiday or it will ruin my plans - :(

Still waiting to hear from the IRS.... should hear around the end of the month.
