I am Legend

Saw this movie at the IMAX theater on Friday night. Holy cow! What a movie experience! THe screen is frickin enormous! Almost makes you the opposite of cross-eyed trying to take it all in! Not for the couch potato though... in order to get a prime seat - you have to climb up several tiers of steps. You have to sit near the top to get a full view. I can't image sitting near the bottom- talk about neck strain. Not cheap but so worth it!
The beginning of the movie started with a preview but it was the strangest preview I have ever seen. No intro, No production company advertisement, it just started playing a long - 10 minute long- segment of the movie. Scary scene about these criminals wearing masks robbing a bank. Turns out it is the trailer for the new Batman movie called The Dark Knight! It is the movie starring Heath LEdger! More eerie watching that trailer after you realize one of the masked men is him and he is now dead. It was weird. Wonder if they will still release the movie this summer. Looks really good but definitely dark. Will have to see it in the IMAX too! Too bad Heath will not see the kudos from all his hard work. So sad and tragic, his death. Was it an unfortunate accident or was it a suicide? Will we ever know? It sure did take our minds off Britney for awhile!

IRS

Well- I think I have completed my tax audit ... at least for now. I faxed off 134 pages of info for the IRS to pour over. Hopefully, that will be the end.
I am deeply saddened by the Green Bay Packers painful loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Ouch. That one hurt. I am impressed that my friends did not heckle me once, no crappy phone taunts or text messages. It was nice to have time to mourn!
Moving on- the weather has been extremely cold! So cold it couldn't even snow. Now today- we get snow! Then back to quite cold.
Not too much happening around here. I have a sniffly nose and a wee bit of congestion that I am fighting but it sure beats pink eye! I feel for you Danielle!!!

Shopping Spree

What is wrong with me? Today, I just couldn't stop myself from spending all my money!!! Happened quite by accident. Wanted a bookcase. Ordered it and a table and a nightstand and some towel bars and then I needed a fax machine to fax off my tax audit so I bought one of those too! Then I went to the outlet mall- just looking for a shirt or blouse for my meeting tomorrow and fell onto this huge sale! Spent more money! What happened? Did I win the lottery or something? Do I have a brain tumor? I never do this! Crazy! But in all honesty, I don't even feel guilty. I told Skube he had to get to work!!!! Jeny- send me some financial wisdom!!!

Happy 2008!

2008 came in with cold temperatures and 10" of snow.
I truly appreciate B's list of 101 things, quite inspirational.... especially how many she accomplished! That's great. Kudos to you!
I would like to make a list too but have been blessed with too many life struggles lately! I say blessed because that keeps me happier! I got news on Jan.1st that the IRS is auditing my 2005 taxes. Yipeee. And I got slammed with a huge property tax bill this year and am caught in a loophole that doesn't allow me any exemptions! Yuck! I am geared to have a work meeting next week to discuss, what else, money! I want more of it and they don't want to pay me anything! Constant struggle! Oh well.
Should be fun.

Tomorrow we are off to watch some professional basketball and then Friday we are experiencing culture again by going to see the musical Wicked! Friday is the only real day of work I have this week - hope I am not too tired Friday night, I want to enjoy the musical and dinner too!

No other news to report. It was a rather quiet Christmas. We were both sick with terrible head colds. Just started feeling better yesterday.
