Dinner is served!

I am so proud of myself! I have been preparing and eating my dinners this week. I am even cleaning up after myself. I know this sounds stupid...but i eat out a lot and am very lazy. When my schedule is hectic, i will leave dishes for two weeks! They aren't terribly dirty and i don't even realize that much time has passed. When i start to wash, I will remember what was going on when i cooked last and get disgusted with myself! Oh well, nobody is perfect. I keep saying "i need a wife" !!
I have been out cleaning the yard too! Social life is on hold. CHores first!

Friday Night

Here it is.... Friday night! And although i had several offers of events to attend tonight, i chose to stay home. I took a bubble bath, relaxed and will be heading to bed early for some much deserved sleep.
I received my final numbers for march and i made my quota for the year!!! Yeah! Thank god really.... if i didn't ... my salary would have been reduced- significantly! Who wants that??!! I had a crazy week with 8 surgeries! a couple small ones but 8 is a lot for me! Previously i was averaging 12 a month! so - if i keep this up it will mean a banner year!
I also got my taxes done on time this year! No extension! How exciting! And i will get some $ back too!!!!! THat is the best feeling! I know it is better to owe and not give uncle sam an interest free loan ... but can't beat the feeling of getting $ back! It's like winning on ebay!!!
Seems i have developed adult acne or an allergic reaction to something. My face has totally broken out and is all blotchy. Also- i can't find a anti-perspirant that works for me! Odd problems to have! Wonder if it is stress related. Or thyroid? Hmm.

Gotta Be Somebody......

I had a busy week! I celebrated my one year anniversary with Great Lakes Orthopedics this week! April 1st! Sure doesn't feel like a year! I guess that is good! I had the biggest surgery of my life this week...it took me 5 hours! I was somewhat discouraged by how long it took ( i didn't transplant a heart or fix a brain tumor) but i did reconstruct a foot! Saving lives ... one foot at a time! Hope this guy heals well! I also completed and mailed my boards binder and should hear in two weeks whether or not the cases were accepted. Then i can start studying for the actual exam in June!
I was just to our big Midwest podiatry conference to mingle and network. I didn't actually sign up to attend. I had a great dinner (fondue) last night, partied til 4 am, slept in the awesome Swissotel and spent 5 hours this morning with the exhibitors. Met some really nice guys last night who were questioning why i am still single. I thought that was most amusing. And one single 24 year old who wanted to marry me (i think he was just drunk, but good looking) and another married dude who told me he wished he wasn't. Why do they tell me that stuff??? What am i going to do with that knowledge?

MArch Madness

BTW, I had the chance to fill out a bracket for march madness this year. The area doctors compete against each other.... it is really cool and sponsored by the MRI facility i use regularly. The more games you pick correctly, the further you go in the tournament... the more valuable gifts and prices you and your office staff receive. Well... I am kicking butt!!!! Up until this weekend that is...but i am still in #3 spot (out of 30) not too bad! And i have six different combinations on how I can win overall! THat would entail Michigan St. or Villanova doing really well. not too sure that will have. UNC and Uconn are the favorites!

Update

I have been frantically working on compiling all the information to send off for my surgical boards! What a pain. I am nearing the end, which is good, since it must be received in San Francisco by Friday.
I am in anticipation of the newest addition to the Burrell family! Good luck!
Also- one of my resolutions this year was to see more of my friends. Not sure how successful i have been so far, considering it is almost April. But i am working on a game plan! I will see all of you this year for sure!!!!!
Still working on my personal life. Just haven't had too much time lately, between my cold, boards and now this week i have the biggest surgery of my career to prepare for. Should be exciting!

Babies!!

Here are some photos! The first is my sister-in-law Mary and my new niece Ashland, followed by my mom and Ashland. Then my niece Emma and my sister-in-law Erica. Enjoy! Thanks for all the nice comments. I am feeling better. I went to work today. I did call in some antibiotics yesterday....kinda weird to call in your own meds but the pharmacist didn't say anything about it! I guess it is a cool perk of my job!

Is anyone still reading this?

Yikes! It has been soooo long since i blogged that i had difficulties remembering my password! Tsk Tsk!
I must admit ... i thoroughly enjoy reading all my friends blogs and updates. It is always a bright spot for me. It is hard to blog about my life. Nobody wants to read about work. Not too much else going on currently. I have been laid up this week with a terrible cold! In fact i missed work yesterday and today! Ugh! There i go...bringin work into it! But i am feeling better! If i recall, i had the same problem last year right around the same time. Weird. Hope this isn't some sort of tradition! Just can't image not feeling good for extended periods of time with a long term illness.
On a positive. I am pleased to announce the latest addition to the lembcke family... Ashland Eleanor 9# 1 oz. She is almost a month old already. Wow- time flies. She is quite the cutie! I was very fortunate to be able to see her when she was just 12 hours old. Amazing!
Well- i am going to clean the cold virus out of my house today!
