Memorial Day Weekend!

I did what every good American should do on Memorial Day weekend! I bought a new mattress! Yup that is right! A new mattress! If you have never had the joy of mattress shopping, get really drunk before you go! It is seriously worse than buying a new car! Ugh! Painful as it was , and it was painful.... the new bed came yesterday and I slept well last night. Hope that trend continues. The old bed was in bad shape, two deep body impressions with a mountain peak in between. Comfortably soft but horrible on my back, and hips. Really?!? Did I just say that?! Yes... I was having joint pain like an 80 year old. So I researched mattresses and found out that nobody is happy with the beds that they buy. Regardless of how much money they spend on it!!! Everyone complained. Therefore, I went into this thinking I will buy ole cheap mattress and just replace more frequently. Well, Mr. Mattress salesman conned me into spending more than I wanted but threw in two king sized pillows for free. Yeah for me! Did you know that if you don't protect your mattress from stains, the stains will void your warranty? I had no idea! Yup, you guessed it! I got suckered into buying the "mattress pad protector" too! And upgraded to the higher quality bed frame (actually we broke the one they give you for free so I thought it prudent to upgrade) But grand total for Mr. Mattress salesman was damn near a whole paycheck. That will make you cry!!!
Hope this thing lasts for years!!! Like 20!

Working Hard Going Nowhere!

The title appropriately sums up the last 6 weeks. I feel busy but am spinning my wheels. Here is the latest. I received my tax audit results on tax day (actually didn't get the packet until April 28th because I was out of town) and was working frantically refiling my taxes from that year because I refuse to pay THEM that much $$$. I just resubmitted last week and hopefully (keep your fingers crossed) they accept it.
I had a great time in Mexico! Call me and I will tell you more about it.
My birthday went well. Thanks to all who called and sent cards! : ) I went out and partied on Friday night. Celebrated with a varied group of co-workers, hospital workers, and friends. Might be able to find a picture of the evening since the hospital group made me wear crazy things. Tell you more later.
THen on Saturday, I participated in a golf scramble. Very disappointing! Thought I would do so much better than I actually did! So much for those lessons! But I did have a great time sucking! Sunday I had a nice lunch with my mom!
Work has been a roller coaster of up and downs and right now it is a down. I am not even going to talk about it. Hopefully- it gets better. Otherwise, i am packing it in and heading to a beach somewhere to open a cabana hut selling booze!

VACATION!!!!

New Experience

First let me start off by saying the tax lady is requiring more documentation from me. Like 135 pages of documentation wasn't enough. She was suppose to be mailing me a letter but received another phone call from her today, didn't have time to return it before she left for the day. Wonder what that is about? Seems the IRS likes to call and "catch" you divulging info without you thinking about it. Don't think I will be calling her back.
ANyway- had a first for me this week. Went and got my hair waxed. Not sure yet if I will be doing that again but it was an interesting experience. Just underarms, lower legs and bikini area. Nothing too fancy. Man is hair removal expensive though and I don't feel I have a lot of it!
Life is busy. Skube is out of town. Glad tomorrow is Friday!!!!

How Ironic!

Well- I finally heard from the IRS. How appropriate that I hear from them today, TAX DAY! Looks like more work for me!

THe fish was offered as a "special" at the restaurant. It was probably a $27 entree!!!! Someone actually paid for this gut rot!!!

Well- I made a fast trip down to Naples, Florida. Great weather, but I ate this fish special called escolar and the damn fish ruined my insides. Check out the side effects of this fish....

Anyway- was quite uncomfortable at the conference I went to Fla for and didn't really get much out of it. Headed home to meet Skube at the airport and his flight was delayed. I had to wait an hour or so for him to arrive. Needless to say, I was sick, tired, and cranky but happy to see him. Didn't get home until 3 am.
Our weather has been chilly but managed to wear a cute outfit to his sister's wedding yesterday. Still suffering from the poison fish... can't really eat or drink much... making it slightly more difficult to have a good time at a somewhat uncomfortable event. But we managed to have a good time. Today... just hanging out until Skube has to catch his flight back. COmmuting sucks!
