All Fun and Games

I was down in West Virginia last weekend doing some white water rafting! Whoa! It was awesome!!! Check that off my list of things I wanted to accomplish this summer. I am so glad I went - even though it was exhausting!
Man- the raft guide scared the crap out of me with the survival instructions for each rapid, but once you were through it- you felt like you owned the world! Very exhilarating!! I will post some photos soon. THe photos crack me up too!

Anyway- I was suppose to finalize the old employer BS on Monday but somebody didn't complete their end of the deal! Imagine that! Utterly disappointing! And frustrating!

Also disappointing was the packers vs cowboys football game on Sunday night! Ugh! Didn't get to watch it but I listened to it on the drive home....made me sick! My team has got to do better than that!

It is officially fall but up here in the north we are having an indian summer! 80 degrees all week!!! MAkes me think of that Kid Rock song "all summer long" Good theme for this summer!!!

Notre Dame and Rain

First off- we have been able to secure tickets to Notre Dame football for the past two weekends. WHat a great time!

This past weekend we were hit by Hurricane Ike!! Hard to believe -I know but we got hit by the leftover rain storm and it wasn't pretty. We received 10" of rain in two days. Lots of flooding in my area. Streets closed, houses taking in water, etc.
No harm no foul for me. And, I was 20 minutes into the trip to work today when the office called and wanted to know if they should cancel my day since they assumed I was stranded by all the water. I could have had a "free" day. A skip if you will. Man- that would have been great but i am honest and told them I was already on my way! The water is so bad in certain areas that part of I94 is closed in both directions!!!

YEah FOOTBALL

I jsut have to say...I have some luck! I finally drafted tom Brady in our Fantasy Football league and his first game... he tears his ACL and is out for the season!!! WHat is up with that???
Anyway... Favre won with the Jets but Rodgers brought the Packers to victory over interleague Minnesota Vickings!!!! Awesome! Great game...we have some work to do but feels good!!!

Update

The lawyer's office called on Friday and said I did very well on the stand but the case was lost! The patient will receive nothing. Makes you feel somewhat sad... but the paralegal said it had nothing to do with my testimony. Maybe they say that to all the witnesses!
ANyway- weather here is gorgeous! Thoroughly enjoying the last hoorah of summer!!!
Catch up on Tuesday!!!
Happy LAbor DAY!!

Expert Witness

so I had to testify in court today. Chalk that up on new and exciting things I have done this year. Not entirely sure how I did... the whole thing happened so fast! I am really glad my hands weren't sweating and my tonge didn't get super dry! I was able to talk intelligently but not sure I did so stellar on the cross examination. Oh well- live and learn. Sure does get your adrenaline going!!!

Summer Fun!

I planted a garden this year and have really gotten in to the whole living off the land concept. I have made strawberry and raspberry jam, zucchini bread (by the truck loads, and most recently, pickles! How domestic of me!
Work has been busy. I can't believe it is already September. I know...almost September. Still trying to pack a few "summer" type activities in before it's fall. Although I did go to the Bears preseason game on Thursday. First sign of fall- FOOTBALL!!! And no- I am not switching teams. I am still a loyal Packer fan even without FAVRE.
Killed another giant hornworm in the garden and it had all these white things all over it. Turns out those were some type of wasp larvae that will eventually hatch and kill all the hornworms in the garden. Should have let that one be! Just didn't seem right to leave it though!

Missing all my girls! I need to find a job with more flexibility.
